The D4science II project was represented at the 5th EGEE User Forum meeting held from 12-16 april by the Uppsala University(Sweden).

A new maintenance release of gCube (1.7.3 ) has been released.

The following portlets/functionalities have been fixed/enhanced:

D4Science-II was presented at the recent International Conference on Marine Data and Information Systems (IMDIS), organized by SeaDataNet, Ifremer and IOC/IODE in Paris.

The presentation explained how D4Science already assists data analysts and environmental scientists to produce collaborative products, such as AquaMaps. The presentation showed how activities that in the past required that data and logic are managed by different platforms and applications can now be accessed in a shared environment that enables true collaboration across parties that are widely dispersed and autonomous.

"A six-minute screencast that illustrates the use of gMan VRE in the Ecosystem VO has accompanied King's College' Stuart Dunn's keynote talk for the HASTAC 2010: Grand Challenges and Global Innovations Conference. 

Held April 15-17 and hosted by the Institute for Computing in Humanities, Arts, and Social Science at the University of Illinois, HASTAC was an entirely virtual event held in a multiplicity of digital spaces instigated from sites across the globe. This year, the conference focused on grand challenges and global innovations in the form of technologies, research, teaching, and inquiry that can be leveraged across personal, physical, geographical, institutional, disciplinary, and organizational boundaries.
