Reporting on ICT 2008, Europe's biggest research event for information and communication technologies
ICT 2008, Europe’s largest bi-annual ICT research event was the place to be late November 2008. About 4,500 people participated in this event organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for the Information Society and Media. ICT 2008 presented Europe's priorities for ICT research, development and funding. Experts from the world of ICT looked at how Europe can lead the ICT agenda for the next decade.

New Deliverable available on inter-projects coordination and collaboration!
Deliverable “DNA2.2a Report on inter-projects coordination and collaboration” is available.
DNA2.2a reports on the collaborations with other FP6 & FP7 projects and R&D programmes established by D4Science from January 2008 to September 2008. These collaborations are of different nature, as they range from purely technical exchanges involving mutual exploitation of technologies to the sharing of e-Infrastructure resources and to the joint organisation of networking and dissemination events.

D4Science presented at the International Conference on Universal Digital Library
The International Conference on Universal Digital Library (ICUDL) is a yearly gathering of decision makers in the arena of digital libraries. The 4th International Conference was organized by Professor Raj Reddy from the Computer School of Carnegie Mellon University. The conference took place from 31 October to 2 November in India in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Information Technology.

D4Science beyond Virtual Research Environments at RCDL 2008
The D4Science project was presented at the All-Russian Research Conference RCDL 2008, held in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russian Federation, on 7-11 October 2008. During the event, an invited talk entitled "Virtual Research Environments: e-Infrastructures beyond Digital Libraries" was given by Pasquale Pagano (CNR). An in-depth tutorial on gCube system was conducted by George Kakaletris (NKUA), Pasquale Pagano and Pedro Andrade (CERN).
