EGEE'09 Conference theme: Uniting our strengths to realise the sustainable European grid
D4Science will actively participate in the conference that will take place at the hotel Barcelo Sants in Barcelona between 21-25 September 2009, with an expected participation of more than 600 delegates.
A demo on "A Virtual Research Environment for Species Distribution Map Generation and Management" will take place on Monday 21 September 2009 at 19:00 while on Tuesday 22 September 2009 at 11:00, there will be a session on "Deploying e-Infrastructures to enable multidisciplinary collaboration in Environmental Science".

The D4Science Training on Infrastructure and Virtual Organisations Management will take place at ESA/ESRIN premises on the 7-8-9 October 2009.
The 3-day event will cover all steps required for the creation of a distributed e-Infrastructure, starting from basic machine resources deployment to the instantiation of a Virtual Research Environment.

IEEE’s Grid conference series is an annual international meeting that brings together a community of researchers, developers, practitioners, and user involved with Grid technology.
The D4Science-II kick-off meeting will be held in Pisa in October 2009.
The 2nd open SEMIC.EU workshop on 14 October 2009 in Brussels will address issues for reuse of all SEMIC.EU platform components. Reuse, in this respect, refers to any reimplementation of the entire open-source platform including the forum and the repository with its interactive Clearing Process, e.g. for national versions of the Semantic Interoperability Centre, or parts and modules.
The event will bring together experts from several European countries who will share experiences with technology reuse and explore opportunities for implementation in other contexts, languages and designs.
