D4Science Networking activities
The overall objective of the D4Science Networking Activities (NA) is to serve the needs of the Environmental Monitoring and Fisheries and Aquaculture Resources Management communities. This is achieved through interaction between the following work packages as depicted in the D4Science activity organisation figure.
- NA1 – Project Management — ensures the overall efficient operation of the project, while guaranteeing that the level of quality meets the expectations raised by the project.
- NA2 – Scientific and Technical Coordination — ensures a collaborative environment within the project focussed on delivering production level services to the D4Science user communities;
- NA3 – Communication and Dissemination — disseminates D4Science results and knowledge in order to raise awareness within the largest pool of potential user communities;
- NA4 – Training — trains software engineers, administrative personnel and end users, from within the D4Science user communities and from other scientific communities;
- NA5 – Communities VREs Definition, Validation and Exploitation — identifies the D4Science user communities’ resources suitable for integration into the e-Infrastructure, defines the Virtual Research Environments (VRE) covering the needs of the application scenarios identified by the target communities, assesses its effectiveness, the appropriateness of the D4Science e-Infrastructure, and proposes recommendations for long term exploitation of both the e-Infrastructure and the VREs.
