Release of the version 1.4 of the gCube software

The new version of the gCube software, version 1.4, has been released on 30 October 2009. This release consolidates the previous version. It adds new functionalities and includes a number of improvements related to the system stability.

Some of the key aspects are:

• Implementation of a new sub-system called Ontology Management;
• Implementation of a new service-based framework called Time Series management allowing the management of the entire workflow starting from the import, curation, and publication of time series resources;
• Improvement and patches of twelve sub-systems: Application Support Layer, Content Management, Data Transformation, Index Management, Information System, Messaging, Portlets, Search and VRE Management; and
• Upgrade of third-party software.
