D4Science in EGEE'09 News release on 'Global grids tackle global science'

D4Science in the new EGEE Collaborating Projects publication
The EGEE joint publication entitled "Success and Sustainability: EGEE Collaborating Projects' Achievements in 2009 and Future Plans" is now available for download at http://collaborating.eu-egee.org/fileadmin/documents/publications/CP-booklet-final-for-print.pdf.
27 projects, including D4Science, have contributed to this publication which will be distributed at the EGEE'09 conference in Barcelona. It highlights significant results achieved during the past year in using, enhancing or exploiting EGEE technologies, and their potential impact and use. Following the conference theme of 'Uniting our strengths to realise the sustainable European grid', the publication also covers how the projects and the communities they are supporting plan their transition to the future European grid.

D4Science at the EGEE’09 Conference
D4Science will actively participate in the EGEE’09 Conference that will take place at the hotel Barcelo Sants in Barcelona between 21-25 September 2009, with an expected participation of more than 600 delegates.
A demo on "A Virtual Research Environment for Species Distribution Map Generation and Management" will take place on Monday 21 September 2009 at 19:00 while on Tuesday 22 September 2009 at 11:00, there will be a session on "Deploying e-Infrastructures to enable multidisciplinary collaboration in Environmental Science".

Article on AquaMaps in the latest OMII-UK Newsletter
In its latest June newsletter, OMII-UK (Open Middleware Infrastructure Institute UK) features an article entitled ‘Plenty more fish in the sea?’. With the contribution of D4Science project members, Danielle Venton from EGEE describes AquaMaps, a new tool that uses EGEE resources to investigate declining fish stocks.
The OMII-UK Newsletter gives updates on the latest developments at OMII-UK and in the e-Research field in general. It benefits from a regular readership of around 1000, and is widely distributed at key conferences.
